We are at present making preparations for the next Hornsey Carnival and are approaching you to invite your organisation to join in the Carnival Spirit and put an entry into the procession.

All of Hornsey Carnival activities are in support of local charities and youth organisations.  Your participation in the procession will help us to raise funds for these causes.  Why not think about putting an entry into the next Hornsey Carnival ?

As in previous years, there is no entry fee for the procession and we provide you with an opportunity of free advertising for your organisation.

If you do not have access to a float, perhaps one or two people from your organisation will take part by foot.  Please let the local people know that you care (and more importantly that you exist!).  It will be a really fun day of which you can be a part and at the same time help the local community and provide the people of Hornsey with a spectacle to remember. There are also a number of prizes to be won by entrants.  We do hope that you will join us.  We are a small committee who give their time up on a voluntary basis – money is given each year to various local charities.

The procession will take place on Saturday 3rd July 2010 and moves off promptly at 2:30pm from the “Old Racecourse Road” in the grounds of Alexandra Palace, via Palace approach, foot of Muswell Hill.  Entrants are requested to assemble from 11am and to report to the Chief Marshal, Paul Houghton, at the entrance gates to receive a procession entry number and to be “booked in” and shown to your allocated place.  Judging will take place at 1:30pm by which time we ask all entrants to be ready so as to guarantee being including in the judging.  The parade covers a route of approximately three miles, taking about 1½ hours in total.

PLEASE BRING AS MANY TIN COLLECTORS AS POSSIBLE.

An Entry Form is available for download from here and we hope to receive your favourable reply in the near future.  Please send your entry in ASAP to avoid disappointment as places are limited.  Should you require any further information, however trivial it may seem, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned on the above telephone/fax number.

If you are unable to take part this year – but wish to express an interest of taking part in the Carnival Procession next year, please fill in the form and return it to us, stating you wish to be sent details for the 2011 carnival when they are available.

Yours truly,

Paul Houghton - Vice Chairman & Parade Marshal
